⚡ The short version
- No accounts. AI Cloud Proxy never asks you to sign up or register.
- No telemetry. The app does not phone home. Nothing is sent to us automatically — ever.
- No cookies. This website sets no cookies and runs no third-party trackers or analytics.
- Local by design. Your keys and settings stay in a file on your own PC.
- Your chats go only to the provider you choose (DeepSeek, OpenAI, Gemini, Claude, or a custom endpoint) — they never pass through our servers, because there are none.
- Logs stay on your device. They reach us only if you copy them into an email yourself.
1. Who we are
AI Cloud Proxy is a free, open-source Windows desktop application and its companion marketing website, aicloudproxy.com. We are independent developers; we are not affiliated with Ollama, DeepSeek, OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, or any other AI provider.
Because the project runs without accounts, payments, or user databases, there is very little personal data involved at all. This policy is written to be as honest and specific as the code itself: if we don’t collect something, we say so plainly.
2. What this policy covers
This policy describes how the AI Cloud Proxy website and the desktop app handle information. It is not the privacy policy of any cloud AI provider you connect to — for that, please see Section 5.
3. The website (aicloudproxy.com)
3.1 Cookies and trackers — none
The marketing site sets no cookies, uses no analytics, and loads no advertising or tracking scripts. There is no cookie-consent banner because there is nothing to consent to. We do not use fingerprinting, web beacons, or local storage to follow you around the internet.
3.2 What is technically visible
Like any website, the page is served over HTTPS from a standard static hosting provider. To deliver the page, that provider may briefly process technical data such as your IP address in server or edge logs. We do not use this information to identify you or build profiles, and we do not combine it with any other data.
The site loads font files from Google Fonts
(fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) so the page
displays with the intended typography. When your browser requests those files, Google
may receive standard connection data, which is governed by
Google’s Privacy Policy.
We never see or receive that data.
If you prefer not to make these third-party requests, you can block them with a browser extension or content blocker — the site still works and reads correctly with system fonts.
4. The desktop app
4.1 Settings and API keys — stored locally, never uploaded
The app stores your configuration — the selected provider, port number, preferences,
per-provider API keys, base URLs, and model names — in a local JSON settings file at
%APPDATA%\AiCloudProxy\settings.json on your own Windows machine.
- This file never leaves your computer. There is no cloud sync, no account, and no server-side copy.
- The file is not encrypted by the app; it lives in your user profile like most application configuration. Treat it as you would any file containing a credential, and keep your Windows account protected.
- Your API keys are used only to authenticate requests to the provider you configure. They are never sent to us, and we never ask for them.
4.2 Chat content — direct to the provider
When you chat through the app, the request is sent directly from your machine to the cloud provider you selected (DeepSeek, OpenAI, Google Gemini, Anthropic Claude, or a custom OpenAI-compatible endpoint). AI Cloud Proxy simply acts as a local translator between the Ollama-style request and the provider’s API.
- Your prompts and responses do not pass through any server we operate — we operate none for this purpose.
- We do not store, log, or read the content of your chats.
- We cannot delete or retrieve them either; they are between you and the provider.
4.3 Logs — kept in memory on your device
To help with troubleshooting, the app keeps a short list of runtime log entries (start/stop events, requests sent, errors) visible in the Logs tab. These entries are held in memory only, for the current session. They are not written to disk and they disappear when the app closes.
These logs are never sent to us automatically. If you contact us about a problem, the app gives you a Copy button so you can paste relevant lines into an email yourself. Only what you choose to include in that email reaches us — nothing is transmitted in the background.
4.4 No telemetry, no background network activity
The app performs no analytics, no crash reporting, no usage counting, and no “phone home” checks. When the app is idle, it makes no network requests at all. The only outbound traffic is the chat traffic you trigger to the provider you chose, and (optionally) auto-update checks if you add a release feed — the current build has no auto-updater.
5. Chats & third-party providers
Because AI Cloud Proxy forwards your requests to third-party cloud AI services, the data-handling rules of those services apply to your chats. This is true no matter which client you use to reach them. Please review the policy of the provider(s) you use:
- DeepSeek Privacy Policy
- OpenAI Privacy Policy
- Google (Gemini) Privacy Policy
- Anthropic (Claude) Privacy Policy
If you add a custom provider, your requests go to whatever endpoint you configured, and that service’s own terms and policies apply. We recommend choosing providers you trust and reviewing how they use the prompts they receive.
6. Feedback & support
Inside the app there is a Send Feedback button. It simply opens your default email client addressed to us — it does not attach or send anything by itself. Anything you type into that email (and any log lines you paste) is shared with us voluntarily.
Please do not include API keys or other secrets in emails or in log exports. If you believe a bug requires sensitive information, mention that first and we will suggest a safe way to share only what is needed.
Email is not an encrypted channel by default. For non-urgent questions that’s fine, but treat anything you send as you would any ordinary email.
7. Data retention & deletion
We hold no data about you, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. Whatever data exists lives on your machine:
- Settings & API keys — stored in
%APPDATA%\AiCloudProxy\settings.json. Delete individual keys in the app’s Settings, or remove the wholeAiCloudProxyfolder to erase everything (the app will start fresh with defaults). - Logs — cleared automatically when the app closes.
- Uninstalling the app removes the program files. Note that, like
most Windows software, uninstallers do not always delete configuration folders in
%APPDATA%; remove that folder manually if you want a complete wipe.
Anything you email us voluntarily (e.g. feedback or support logs) is retained only as long as needed to address your request, after which it is deleted. You may ask us at any time to delete emails you have sent us.
8. Children’s privacy
AI Cloud Proxy and its website are general developer tools intended for adults and not directed at children under 13 (or under the applicable age of consent in your region). Because we collect no personal data on the site or in the app, there is no child data for us to collect. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Security
Our privacy model is deliberately simple: the app is open source, keeps secrets on your machine, and has no server component for us to secure. In practice that means the main “attack surface” is your own device. Good practices that keep you safe:
- Keep your Windows user account protected with a strong password or Windows Hello.
- Do not share your
settings.jsonfile or paste API keys into emails, chats, or public places. - The local listener binds to your machine; avoid exposing the proxy port to the public internet. Anything that can reach that port can send chat requests using your configured keys.
- Download the app only from the official release page to avoid tampered builds.
10. Your rights & choices
Depending on where you live (including the GDPR in the EU/EEA and similar laws), you have rights over your personal data. In practice, exercising them with us is simple because we hold none of it:
- Access / portability — your data is already on your device, in
the
%APPDATA%\AiCloudProxyfolder. - Rectification — edit your settings and keys in the app at any time.
- Erasure — delete keys in the app or remove the settings folder, and clear in-memory logs by closing the app.
- Objection / restriction — not applicable in practice, as we perform no automated decision-making and no profiling of users.
To exercise any right, or to request deletion of emails you’ve sent us, use the contact details in Section 12.
11. Changes to this policy
If we change how the website or app handles data — for example, by adding a feature that transmits something new — we will update this page and revise the “Last updated” date above. Because the project is open source, the code is the ultimate reference: any claim here can be verified against the source. Material changes will be called out in the release notes for the app.
